The Down Syndrome Association is proud to present our 12th Annual Buddy Walk® for Down Syndrome!
Join us on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Mt. San Jacinto College in Menifee from 10:00 am-1:00 pm to raise awareness, advocacy and support for people with Down Syndrome and their loved ones. Have fun while supporting Down Syndrome with games, activities, entertainment, resources, and music. Register by October 4 for Early Bird Price and pay only $10 - it includes activities and an original 2017 Buddy Walk® T-shirt.
FromOctober 5-November 3, registration will be $15 and T-shirts sizes will not be guaranteed.
Registration on the day of the event will be $20, t-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed.
Have some fun and spread the word! Invite everyone you know to support your loved one with Down Syndrome. Check out the incentives for the teams and for the individuals who raise the most money. Virtual walkers are able donate to your team from the comfort of their home. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by volunteers hoping to bring a better understanding of Down Syndrome to the community.

Since 1995, the Buddy Walk® has become the premier advocacy event for Down syndrome in the United States. It is also the world's most widely recognized public awareness program for the Down syndrome community.
Here are some milestones to show how the program has grown:
The Buddy Walk® program was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome and to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October. The name Buddy Walk® promotes inclusion between friends of every ability.
17 events took place across the country during the inaugural year of the Buddy Walk®.
Chris Burke led the flagship New York City Buddy Walk®.
NDSS introduced the Times Square Video to bring attention to the Buddy Walk® program and raise awareness of individuals with Down syndrome in a public setting.
The Buddy Walk® added a fundraising component to raise money for local and national programs and services.
Over 100 Buddy Walk® events took place.
NDSS celebrated 10 years of the Buddy Walk®! From 1995 - 2005 over 1,500,000 people participated in Buddy Walks worldwide.
More than 250 Buddy Walk® events took place with over 200,000 participants raising more than $5.5 million.
The National Buddy Walk® Program welcomed its first regional and national partners: Regal Entertainment Group; Knology; the American Physical Therapy Association, Section on Pediatrics.
The Buddy Walk® public service announcement, starring TV Host Nancy O'Dell, TV Host Meredith Vieira, Actor John C. McGinley, Actor and NDSS Goodwill Ambassador Chris Burke, and Actress Andrea Friedman, was played nationwide at all Regal Cinemas before every movie for two weeks to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month and the National Buddy Walk® program.
More than 250 Buddy Walk® events took place with over 250,000 participants raising more than $10.5 million.
The first Buddy Walk® held on a military base in a combat zone took place at Camp Phoenix in Kabul, Afghanistan.
More than 250 Buddy Walk® events took place with over 285,000 participants raising more than $11 million.
The Buddy Walk® program welcomed its newest national partner, Down Syndrome Footprint
The first Buddy Walk® in Japan was held at Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa

The Buddy Walk® has been ranked in the top 30 fundraising events nationwide for: money raised, number of participants and best series event since 2008 according to Run Walk Ride Fundraising Council Survey results.
The Buddy Walk® had a record breaking year with more than 305,000 participants raising $12.1 million dollars in more than 250 events across the country and around the world.
Our first international Buddy Walk® in Turkey took place in Istanbul, along with Walks in Tokyo, Japan; Auckland, New Zealand; Freeport, Bahamas; Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago as well as across Canada.
The Buddy Walk® was again ranked among the top 30 fundraising events nationwide by the Peer-to-Peer Professional Forum. This year, the Buddy Walk® ranked #30 for money raised, #13 for number of events and #7 for number of participants. We are proud to have made the list yearly since 2008.
The Buddy Walk® had another record breaking year with more than 315,000 participants raising nearly $13 million dollars in more than 250 events across the country and around the world.
Four new organizations joined the ranks as National Partners of the Buddy Walk®: Aardvark Straws, Furnace Hills Coffee, Paystik and Strider Sports, each bringing a unique opportunity and benefit to Walks.
